FAQs
Why share a problem?
Because sometimes the problem is not the problem - but how we are carrying it, judging and interpreting it, translating it or repeating it.
In a world that wants to be right, The Lab offers something more genuine.
A space where reason and logic capture the granular and meets the uncertainty of human behaviours, incentives and emotions. Not an either or scenario but a deeper understanding.
Subjective experiences and cultural awareness is a place where AI falls short.
At the intersection of environments/systems there is no black or white, only shades - my favourite spot.
Why does this kind of impartial reflection help?
Because even the most thoughtful people struggle to be fully objective about their own situations.
We all carry blind spots, incentives, emotions and assumptions that quietly shape how we interpret reality.
Having a neutral lens allows you to:
• See beyond your habitual framing
• Clarify proportion and priorities
• Consider new possibilities or trade-offs
• Build alignment and trust in complex situations
• Restore balance before making decisions
What kinds of challenges can I bring?
You can bring:
• A question, decision or dilemma
• An unease that’s hard to name
• A tension, misstep or miscommunication
• A relational or trust difficulty
• A sense that something isn’t landing quite right
• A recurring pattern you want to better understand
• A strategic discomfort
• A framing that may carry habitual bias or blind spots
If you’re unsure whether it “fits,” you’re in the right place. The Lab holds space for ambiguity.
Are there limits to what I can bring?
Yes. The Lab does not handle:
• Legal advice/representation
• Financial or tax advice
• Crisis intervention or high-risk situations
• Regulated or criminal investigations
• Personal liability questions
The Lab is a space for reflection and reframing — not regulated or specialised advice.
Can I ask follow-up questions?
If something requires further clarification after your response, you can submit a follow-up — though this may be treated as a fresh submission to allow proper reflection.
The Lab prioritises careful thought, not fast back-and-forth exchanges.
How long does it take to receive a response?
Runs on a Cab Rank Rule - next in line. Also dependent on the reflection required a reasonable period that allows for proper consideration.
It should not be a quick reactive process— the value comes from careful reflection and clarity. I endeavour to be as timely as possible.
Is there a cost?
The Lab operates on a voluntary contribution basis.
If you find value in your reflection, you are invited to support the work via a simple donation link. This allows accessibility while honouring the time and care given to each submission.
How is this connected to WJA?
The Perspectives Lab is part of the wider work of Warren-Jones Associates (WJA).
For individuals and organisations who need deeper support — including Forensic Policy Refinement, Strategic Reframing, and Diplomatic Communication Review — WJA offers advisory work for complex decision-making, communication challenges and systems-level strategy.
The Lab offers a first step: a space for reflection and recalibration.
For those who need more comprehensive policy, systemic or leadership support, WJA builds on this lens.
Why did you create The Lab?
Because I have seen, across law, policy, diplomacy and human relations, that many of our challenges are not simply problems — they are often perspective failures, assumptions or miscommunication.
When we step outside of our own framing, something clearer and better often emerges.
The Lab creates that space — quietly, reflectively, and with care.
